The music or the misery

youdsay replied to your post: being slimmer is not impressing society, it’s being healthier. be healthy for yourself so you feel better today and live longer tomorrow! no offense but a Sz 20 is not healthy..

NOBODY WHO SAYS THESE THINGS ACTUALLY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THE PERSON THEY’RE DIRECTING IT TO. THEY JUST SAY THAT BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT TO SAY “YOU’RE FAT AND I FIND FAT PEOPLE AESTHETICALLY OFFENSIVE”

Katie gets it.

I wish people would start to understand that being healthy is more complex than fat = unhealthy and thin = healthy. For starters, I know (and I’m sure anyone reading this does too) thin people who eat shit all the time and ‘normal-sized’/’big’ people that eat really well, and on another note one of the best/strongest dancers in my dance classes is a girl that people would probably see as being ‘too big’ to dance. Between the damage that fad dieting does to our bodies and minds and the amount of eating disorders in our society, do we really need any more self-righteous arseholes telling people they’re not good enough because of how their body looks? Also what about the state of their mental health after being degraded all the time because of how they happen to be built physically? This ideology that decides that just because you have a bigger body you’re automatically a crap/lazy/almost immoral person shits me to the core, and just quietly I don’t think we need any more encouragement for self-hate in this society, so basically stop that shit right now, or I will really come over there and be really fucking unpleasant.
